Professional Appreciation
Dr. Maria Newton
I will say that my passion for working with youth athletics and athletic programs came from an enlightening semester in Dr. Newtons Positive Youth Development course. This course played a massive role in why I do the work that I do today and I want to thank her for her integrity and execution of a caring climate. Her work will always be a guide for positive change in my career and home lives!
Thank you, Dr. Newton, for your mentorship and advice in navigating the world of post-graduate studies and application.
Dr. Nick Galli
Dr. Galli has influenced me through many hours of mentorship over the years that I have made my way from student to applied consultant/coach. I consider Nick a friend and a guide in this very dynamic work of applied sports psychology and hope to enjoy a lifetime of mentorship from him as the field continues to grow.
Thank you, Nick, for your time listening to my rambling thought dumps and helping me make sense of this wild world!
Dr. Nicole Detling
Dr. Detling provided me with my initial exposure to the field while studying at the University of Utah. She helped me see the potential that the field had in application along with the framework of knowledge in the 5 cardinal skills of Sports Psychology. Her work with athletes inspired me to build my own business and see the positive effect I could have on the world.
Thank you, Dr. D, for helping me find my passion and essential drive within the field.
Carrie Cheadle
I met Carrie in a business development course that she ran called Level Up. Through this course, Carrie had a profound influence on the way I thought about business in the realm of sports psychology. She inspired the initial stages of the online mental training program and the general structure of online mental conditioning.
Thank you, Carrie, for your openness to bring up new practitioners in the field and your innovative approaches to what we do!
Dr. Cindra Kamphoff
I met Cindra as a student in a sports psychology business course that she and Carrie Cheadle put on in the summer of 2016. During this course, she helped me understand some of the nuances of speaking within the field and how it could be an avenue to explore further.
Thank you Cindra for your advice in that arena!
Dr. Hillary Cauthen
After my graduation, I was able to work with Dr. Cauthen on the finer points of the one-on-one working relationship. She helped me understand this relationship at a much deeper level and took my skills to a whole new level.
I want to thank Dr. Cauthen for the grounding nature of our conversations and the learning opportunities that she provided.
Dr. Michael Gerson
Mike and I worked together within Mission 6 Zero and on a variety of projects within Mental Grit. His influence has helped me develop a broader understanding of the field and the application it can have. He taught me some of the nuances of applied sport psychology and for that I want to thank him here!
Thank you Dr. Gerson for always going beyond the expected and diving deep into the topic at hand!
